Small and medium businesses provide opportunities for new financial services suppliers

In a recent syndicated survey, conducted with a representative sample of businesses employing 5 to 100 people, we reviewed new business opportunities for business banking suppliers.

In the Credit Union sector of that, we found that:

Ø  3 in 4 small and medium business decision makers note Credit Unions provide business banking services;

Ø  There were new banking services business opportunities for the Credit Unions that provide those services particularly in the educational, health, cultural, and personal services sectors; among the longer established businesses; more so with businesses managed by women; and with small businesses in South Australia.

Ø  These areas of identified opportunity often correlate with areas of current Credit Union strength (in South Australia, or among those in the education or health sectors, for example), but also identify new business banking service opportunities in other, and perhaps unexpected, areas.
