A problem from our intense daily work is that it can limit interacting with people other than work colleagues, family and friends – all good company, but they can differ from customers or prospects in geography, work lives or socially. So not seeing others closely can hide their differences from us. This risks our communications, products or services are developed for people like us, perhaps lessening their overall market effectiveness.
How?
One in seven Australian people aged to 64 years have a disability, the ABS notes. Overall, 8% of all people have profound or severe physical disabilities, limiting their mobility, self-care, health care and they can need help with these or for cognitive and emotional tasks.
A strengthened and expanded market can follow when you know the proportions of your current or prospective customers have a profound or severe disability and what needs to be done to ensure their actual inclusion too.
Hence, if knowing more about those people who are outside your normal daily interactions, can strengthen your business, please email Philip Derham at derhamp@derhamresearch.com.au or call him on 0414 543 765.
