We have been working with Deakin University students for about a decade, providing market research-related projects for teams of students to practice their skills.
One recent project was to assess the market for the (imagined) Richville Retirement Village. As one of the students commented after their team completed their project:
“Our team worked on a client consulting project for Richeville Retirement Villages from Derham Insights Research , where we evaluated the feasibility of launching an ultra-premium retirement village development in Australia.
The project focused on comparing Melbourne and Perth as potential launch markets.
After analysing retiree wealth, lifestyle preferences, land and development factors, competition, and long-term growth opportunities, our team recommended Perth as the preferred initial launch market for Richeville’s flagship development.
This project gave me valuable experience in:
- Market research and feasibility analysis
- Business analytics and strategic planning
- Competitor analysis
It was a great opportunity to apply business knowledge in a real-world consulting environment and present our findings through both a professional report and presentation.
Grateful to my team, Deakin University, our lecturers, and Philip Derham from Derham Insights Research for the opportunity to be part of this project.”
