Data research suggests that the busiest times for Australian funeral directors are generally July and August, as more Australians die during those generally colder months.
In March and April, generally there are fewer Australian deaths, making holidays, which can include the Easter break, more viable for funeral directors.
But the ideal holiday month is February, because then there is the least demand for funeral directors’ services, as the graph shows.
In contrast, the generally mild month of May in Australia can also be a month when more staff can be required to service funeral directors’ businesses.
These observations are not morbid. They highlight the need to use data research in planning business activities – such as leave – to ensure the planned activities best meet customer demand and so strengthen business growth.
